Dimensions Personal Health and Fitness is a personal training studio based in Ferndown offering high quality, friendly and professional fitness and rehabilitation services at affordable prices.

Launched in January 05, the prime objective of Dimensions is to provide exceptional personal training and fitness services that will be individually tailored to achieve your goals.

Dimensions only use very experienced and qualified professional staff including doctors, chiropractors, sport massage therapists, Pilates instructors and of course personal trainers.   

The unique concept of our service is that you have exclusive usage of the fully equipped gymnasium for you or you group for the duration of your session, therefore there will be no interruptions or time wasting with regards to your training. We will set up a tailor made fitness programme to suit your specific goals, whether it’s to lose weight, tone up, improve your fitness levels or enhance your sport related performance. 

Exercise is not only beneficial to your health but it should also be fun and relaxing. Dimension’s personal trainers can give you the motivational support you need.

Regular assessments will be offered to analyse your progressions and performance - more details on this is available in the health and wellness section.

initial consultation

This consultation will identify, goals, objectives, current lifestyle activities and highlight any restrictions by completing a pre activity readiness questionnaire. After completing all relative paperwork a basic assessment of physical fitness will follow. Heart rate, core strength, flexibility, strength and posture will be analysed to benchmark your current fitness levels.

Personal training is now the way forward of achieving your specific goals, no more time wasting, no more waiting for equipment and booking your regular sessions will ensure that your exercise adherence will remain. These factors will ensure that you will succeed in your ambitions as well as the constant supervision, guidance and motivation from the Dimensions Personal Trainer. 

Personal training sessions are booked in blocks of 4, 8, 12, or 16 sessions the more commitment to your training the more discounts you will receive. Alternatively you can pay by monthly standing order.

40% further discount – If you book with a friend, family member, work colleague or partner. This is a very motivational, social, fun and affordable method of receiving personal training.

Additional discounts of up to 60% if you add further people to your booking (up to 6 clients) are also available.

6 week courses

Circuit training is a great form of exercise. Moving round the fitness studio on all pieces of equipment for a specific duration of time your personal trainer will push you to your potential to achieve an all over body work out. Strength, endurance and aerobic capacity will be enhanced as well as balance and flexibility. Bleep tests outdoor sprints and drills will also be introduced.

Why not use our personal trainer’s skills and experience to enhance your team’s performance. Any sport we can identify specific biomechanical actions and design a unique programme to your team’s requirements. Book your day and time. For further information please contact us. Alternatively we can travel to you, but a mileage fee will be added.

weight loss programme

Equilibrium is a brand new innovative programme that will educate, advise, help and motivate you to lose weight and most importantly keep the weight off. Each session lasts for 1 hour, in the exclusive dimensions personal health and fitness studio with a personal trainer which will be used exclusively by you, your group or corporate company.

All clients will receive a manual which provides detailed nutritional information and how your body works with various types of food, fitness training regimes and a log to monitor your biometric statistics.

Each client will have an individual, confidential consultation to identify health and lifestyle habits, measure weight, BMI and to calculate daily calorific expenditure.

Confidentially each client will be measured on a regular basis.  All clients will receive an individual dietary and exercise plan as everyone’s goals, body composition and fitness levels are different.

golf performance academy

As a golfer, you have unique conditioning requirements. Flexibility, speed, balance, power and core strength all have a direct impact on your score. The level of exertion and muscle activation in golf equates with many other sports, the difference is that other athletes prepare their bodies for these physical demands. Golfers strike the ball many times a game, with club head speeds over 100 mph, yet they don't condition their body for these physical demands. Consequently, a great number of golfers today are not playing to their full potential, and many of them are playing injured. The most common injuries that golfers suffer are back pain and elbow injuries.

The objective of the sessions is to target physiological factors and biomechanical functions relating to golf including strength, power, flexibility, balance and core strength, we also focus specifically on biomechanics and the muscles that are activated throughout the golf swing.

Improving a golfer’s biomechanics will improve swing technique. If a golfer has biomechanical problems, their bodies may not be able to perform a technically correct swing. The first phase of the golf performance academy is to screen the golfer using a series of tests to identify any problems such as joint immobility, leg length discrepancies, pelvic rotation, nerve tension, muscle spasm and proprioception.

Having identified any problems we can then prescribe exercises to address these areas. Our aim is to get the golfer into good mechanical shape, by doing this we reduce the risk of injury, improve balance and core strength and enable the golfer to get the most out there sessions with a golf pro.
